Note: This renowned horse race between Aaron and Driver in 1754 was captured on canvas by artist Richard Roper (c. 1730-c. 1775) in a series of three paintings. Roper's version of the second race is in the collection of the Yale Center for British Art, New Haven, CT. The painting here appears to be by another artist capturing the same scene or copying Roper's version.
