Note: The British call these tables "coaching tables". During the 18th and 19th centuries, great journeys were undertaken by coach. In order to make the journey as comfortable as possible for the occupants, the folding coaching table was carried on board. When the passengers found themselves in need of sustenance and were not in the vicinity of an inn, the table was taken out, opened up and used in the same manner as the modern-day picnic table.

Condition

Scattered nicks, age splits, staining and minor losses to the tray. Slight gap on the front left corner and splits to the molded base. Expected nicks to the X-form stand. Stable frame.

Notwithstanding this report or any discussion concerning condition of a lot, all lots are offered and sold "as is" in accordance with our conditions of sale.
