Note: Mary "May" Morris (1862-1938) is the daughter of William and Jane Morris. She learned embroidery from her mother and aunt. In 1878 she enrolled in the National Art Training School, the precursor to the Royal College of Art. In 1885 she became the Director of the Embroidery Department at her father's enterprise, Morris & Co. in London. In 1907 she founded the Women's Guild of Arts as the Arts Worker Guild did not admit women.
In good overall condition with very little wear.
