Note: Dame Elisabeth Frink was one of Britain's foremost post-war figurative sculptors. Her works depicting dogs and horses are among her best-known and most desirable works, including the prominent Horse and Rider commissioned for Piccadilly, London. This sculpture of a horse is based on ancient Chinese horse sculptures. It is a subject Frink explored in other works from the same period.
