Mixed media collage, c. 1940, unsigned, with label from Helen Serger La Boetie, Inc., NY. 8 1/2 x 7 5/8 in. (sheet), 15 x 14 1/2 in. (frame). Note: Eileen Gray is best known as a furniture designer and pioneer of the Modern Movement in architecture. Gray's creativity and pursuit of the modern aesthetic spread to the fine arts as well. She painted, sculpted and created many works on paper, some of which were recreated as tapestries. Provenance: Estate of the artist; Helen Serger.
