Note: The figure is based off of the German folklore figure Eulenspiegel which translates into 'owl mirror'. The character plays the fool noted by his jester's cap and serves as a mirror which society can judge itself. Another interpretation suggests the owl was regarded as the Devil’s bird during the Middle Ages, and tales told by Eulenspiegel could be seen as lessons one to face own foolishness and shortcomings.
