(frame).Note: Dorothy Dehner married artist David Smith in 1927 after meeting him the previous year and convincing him to study painting with her at the Art Students League of New York. In 1940, the couple moved to the farm they owned in Bolton Landing, NY. This location gave them some needed distance from the New York art scene and became the subject of many of their works.
