The bound set of one hundred and two engraved plates (100 numbered, 2 unnumbered, 3 double-page), one leaf of engraved sheet music and text, 1714, printed by Jacques Collombat in 1715, brown leather boards ruled in gilt with marbled endpapers.
19 1/4 x 12 1/2 in.
Note: The plates are based on paintings in the collection of the Marquis de Ferriol. In 1707, Ferriol commissioned Jean Baptiste van Mour to paint one hundred works of different officials and races from the Levant in their native costume. Ferriol helped Le Hay publish this set of engravings after the paintings which became an instant success and reference point for other artists interested in Turquerie.
