After a model by Duncan Phyfe, the outscrolled top rail above the eagle back splat, above drop seat, raised on leaf-tip carved splayed legs.Note: The original model of this chair is known as Governor Clinton's Chair, as it is one of a set made for Governor Clinton of New York by Duncan Phyfe and illustrated in Nancy McClelland, Duncan Phyfe and The English Regency, 1795-1830, 1939, plate 254, page 267.
