Raised on a Siena marble pedestal.

19 1/2 x 5 x 8 3/4 in.

Note: Alexandre de Beauharnais (1760-1794) was born in Martinique, and was a political figure and general during the French Revolution. He was the first husband of Empress Joséphine and the father of Eugène and Hortense. Beauharnais was executed by guillotine during the Reign of Terror, only five days before the deposition and execution of Robespierre.

Condition

Minor nicks along the marble edges and near the back hooves, with old cracks and a few minor repairs. Beautifully cast and very detailed.Not withstanding this report or any discussion concerning condition of a lot, all lots are offered and sold "as is" in accordance with our conditions of sale.
