Note: The US War Portraits Commission hired Cecilia Beaux  in 1920 to paint a portrait of Georges Clemenceau, the French statesman who signed the WWI Peace Treaty at Versailles in 1919. The finished portrait hangs in the collection of the Smithsonian American Art Museum.
