Note: The Boston artist Hermann Dudley Murphy started the frame making shop Carrig-Rohane in 1903 after meeting James Abbot Mc Neill Whistler in Europe. Whistler advocated the designing of a frame to compliment the painting and the room it was placed in. Murphy began making frames for himself and then for other well-known artists of the period.
In generally good condition. Scattered scuffs, nicks and losses to the gilding. Seam separation. Structurally sound.
