20 1/2 x 20 1/4 x 3 in. (overall).
Note: César Baldaccini, who preferred to be known simply as César, was one of two young French artists whose work was included in Douglas Cooper's collection at the Chateau de Castille, near Avignon in the South of France. Cooper and John Richardson moved to Castille in 1952 after a long renovation of the dilapidated chateau. They lived there throughout the 1950s. The chateau became Cooper's private museum, housing his collection of Cubist art and was visited by artists and other collectors. César visited them at Castille when travelling south from Paris as his home and studio were in Marseille.
