Raised on a marble plinth; together with a patinated metal bust of a mid-2nd AD Antoine Emperor, raised on a circular marble socle. 9 1/2 x 4 x 3 1/2 in. and 8 1/2 x 3 x 2 3/4 in. Note: An identical model of Seneca sold in Berlin, Auctionata AG, October 29, 2004 for 4,000 Euros. This model of Seneca is referred to as the "pseudo-Seneca" and is one of the most famous portraits of ancient Rome. Provenance: Russell Lyons Antiques, Ashley Falls, MA.
