Fresson print, 1980, signed, titled, dated 1999 and inscribed 'Tirage Fresson, petit format, No. 18/40' on the reverse, with label from Irving Galleries, Palm Beach.

14 1/2 x 12 3/4 in. (sheet), 20 3/4 x 20 3/4 in. (frame).

Note: Théodore-Henri Fresson invented his unique printing process in 1899 and the technique has been passed down through four generations of the Fresson family. Fresson prints are still made today in the family's workshop on the outskirts of Paris. Initially used for monochromatic prints, the technique was eventually used to make the first color carbon print. The time-consuming process produces subtle, blended colors that have the effect of pastel and take six hours per print to make.
