Pencil and ink on paper, unsigned.

12 1/2 x 21 in. (sight), 14 1/8 x 22 1/8 in. (sheet), 23 1/4 x 31 in. (frame).  

Light and mat staining. Scattered foxing. Several tiny pin holes. An approximately 3/4 in. skinned spot in upper left above the image and a small skinned spot above shield. Taped to the back mat with masking tape along sheet edge. Old brown tape along the reverse of the bottom and left sheet edges and with remains of old masking tape. Staining on reverse and inscribed '17', '2', and '2'. Stray pencil marks at the sheet edges. Old white paper tape along bottom and left, not attached to sheet. Soft creasing throughout.
