Provenance: Jean-François Baroni, Paris.
Note: Between 1812 and 1817, Vernet made two-hundred sixty-seven drawings for the French fashion journal Le journal des dames et des modes. Thirty-one of the drawings were used for his 1814 album Incroyables et Merveilleuses. Off these thirty-one drawings, twenty-four were sold at auction in 1991 by Poulain-Le Fur in Paris.
