Note: A bronze version of this maquette cast in an edition of 6 is referenced in John Rewald's book on Maillol, no. 166, and sold in 2008 at Christie's, NY. ( 07 May 2008, Lot 340). The large bronze titled Monuments aux mort de Port-Vendres sits in the Place de l'Odalisuqe facing the port. It was commisioned in 1919 and installed in 1923. A copy was subsequently cast and installed in the Tuilleries Gardens in Paris. This maquette has not been reviewed by the Maillol expert in Paris.
