Note: This drawing was not able to be reviewed for authentication. Arthur and Teddy Edelman asked Andy Warhol to design shoes for their company, Edelman Leather, in 1957. Warhol worked with them until 1965, designing anything they asked for with an understanding and an incredible gift for translating their ideas to paper, including advertisements and other forms of graphic design. In 1965, Warhol began focusing on his film work and left his position with the Edelmans to pursue his artistic endeavors. The rest, as they say, is history.
