Note: Arthur Lambert designed this 'Perfect adjusting shelving,' circa the 1880's. They were fabricated by W. Lucy & Co. and were installed in places like the Bodleian Library in Oxford and the Linnean Society in London. A similar pair sold Christie's London Lot 442, Christopher Howe - The First Twenty Years, 23 March 2004. 

Condition

Condition as is to be expected from use and age. Scattered rust, rubbing, scratches and nicks. Wirework divider bowed and uneven. Some loose brackets and shelves. Structurally sound.Not withstanding this report or any discussion concerning condition of a lot, all lots are offered and sold "as is" in accordance with our conditions of sale.
