Mixed media, 1989. 4 3/4 x 3 3/4 in. (wax block), 17 x 21 1/4 in. (frame).Exhibited: Strange Attractors: Signs of Chaos, New Museum, NY, Sept. 14 - Nov. 25, 1989.Note: Collaborators Hamilton and Clark created and installed Palimpsest as part of the New Museum's exhibition Strange Attractions: Signs of Chaos in. 1989. The images in this small work show the installation and are framed with one of the original wax blocks from the installation. The exhibition Strange Attractors focused on the language and image of chaos" and how it affects daily life. Palimpsest strove to show the fragmentation of our daily experience and how it is fraught and disjointed by the onrush of information we receive and have to process."
