Provenance: William Henry Philip (1885-1881), Talavera, Claverack, NY; John Van Ness Philip (1866-1949), Talavera, Claverack, NY; Helen Munro Stott Philip (1883-1973), Talavera, Claverack, NY; Julia Willis Philip (1925-2017), Talavera, Claverack, NY; thence by descent. Note: It is speculated that this fragment has been in the possession of Judge Peter Van Ness of Kinderhook, NY (1734-1804). It was then inherited by his daughter Gertrude Van Ness Hoffman (1772-1852) and then her daughter, Catherine D. Hoffman who married Henry George Philip who’s son is William Henry Philip (1825-1881)who purchased Talavera in Claverack, NY.
