This console was originally designed to be exhibited in the Exposition Internationale des Arts Decoratifs et Industries Modernes, Paris, 1925.
An identical 'Heron' console sold at Christie's, New York, December 7, 2023.
Condition
In good condition with very minor scuffs and nicks to the marble top and bases. There is an old repair to the left heron's neck and a shallow age crack on its upper right leg. Both have minor abrasions on the wings, and beaks with dirt residue build-up where the talons meet the marble bases. Minor verdigris patination on both feet. Structurally sound.
