Two engravings in black on wove paper, 1889, both with labels from William Secord Gallery, NY and D&H; together with After Sir Edwin Landseer (1802-1873): The Lion Dog from Malta, The Last of His Tribe, engraving in black on Chine collé, 1816; and An Alpine Mastiff, engraving in black on wove paper.
Two 9 3/8 x 11 7/8 in. (sight), 17 1/2 x 20 in. (overall), both wrapped in shrink-wrap, 15 x 19 in. (plate), 23 5/8 x 31 3/8 in. (sheet), unframed, 16 3/4 x 19 5/8 in. (sight), 23 5/8 x 25 7/8 in. (frame).
Condition
All with margins, pale staining, foxing and some surface soiling. The Lion Dog from Malta, The Last of His Tribe with creasing, a few areas of skinning and some surface losses along the sheet edges. An Alpine Mastiff with a repaired tear upper right, a scuff upper center and a small split and creasing lower right. Otherwise, all apparently in good condition. Not examined out of frame.
