Bronze, inscribed 'c.c. Ramsey' and 'M.H.R.', marked 'Roman Bronze Works' and numbered 16/16. 4 1/3 x 5 1/4 x 3 1/2 in.
Note: The original <I>Dog Lying Down<P> was made for Mary Harriman Ramsey, the artist's wife. It was produced at the Valsuani Foundry and has the Foundry's mark. Both the original and the version here bear the initials "M.H.R.' for Mary Harriman Ramsey.
