Note: A nearly identical Herter sofa was commissioned for Evergreen, Baltimore, MD circa 1880 for the front parlor, by the Garret family. An armchair from the Evergreen suite is now in the American Wing in the Metropolitan Museum of Art, NY, (2001.75). The Evergreen parlor suite has more elaborately carved legs and a deeper rosewood apron.
