Seven watercolor and gouache on variously colored paper, six signed 'Adelia Gates' lower left or right. All 10 3/4 x 7 1/2 in. (sheet), 12 x 8 1/2 in. (frame).Note: Born in Upstate, NY, Adelia Gates traveled the world as an unmarried female artist, settling in San Francisco in 1883. She was active in the local art scene and was best-known for her painting of wild flowers. Provenance: Stubbs Books & Prints, Inc., NY.
