Note: Louis Tregre founded his interior design firm in 1961. In 1972 he helped found The National Council for Interior Design Qualification, which tests and certifies interior designers. In 1991, the NCIDQ created The Tregre award to honor his memory. The award recognizes an individual for outstanding effort in promotion of The Council and its mission.
